Our mission
Reliable, evidence-based health information should be available in the languages people actually use — in plain words, and free of misinformation. Swasthya Plus is our answer: a searchable catalogue of health videos explained by practising Health Experts, organised around the health topics people actually search for.
Where we stand today
- 6,407 long-form health videos and 6,526 short-form videos
- 16 languages: Odia, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu, Nepali, Malayalam, Punjabi, Maithili, Bhojpuri
- 2,316 Health Experts — doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, coaches
- 1.9 million subscribers across our social networks
- 267 million+ lifetime video views across our YouTube & social networks
The Swasthya journey
Swasthya Plus began in 2019 as an Odia-language health website. In 2020 we shifted decisively toward video, because health information works better when people can see and hear a trusted expert explain it in a familiar language.
What started with Odia quickly expanded into Bangla, Hindi, and then the broader multilingual network that exists today. The service is built from Bhubaneswar, written for the Indian health context, and used by communities across the world who speak these languages.
Why this exists
Most online health content in India is either paywalled, written only in English, or mixed with unverified home remedies. People end up on forwarded WhatsApp videos and unregulated advice forums because the credible alternatives don’t meet them where they are.
That creates both information deserts and misinformation traps. Swasthya Plus exists to close that gap by putting credible health information in the formats and languages people already use. We curate health information that is:
- Evidence-based. Grounded in mainstream medicine, referenced to authoritative sources such as the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s MedlinePlus.
- Spoken by verified Health Experts. Doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, and coaches with public credentials.
- Language-first. Live in 16 languages today — content in the scripts and vocabulary people actually use.
- Free, ad-light, and without dark patterns. No streaks, no fake urgency, no manipulative UI.
What we do
On Swasthya Plus you can:
- Browse Health Topics, each with a plain-language overview and the videos that explain them.
- Explore videos by Category — from Heart & Cardiac to Mental Health to Pregnancy & Maternity.
- Watch both long-form explainer videos and Shorts, depending on whether you want a deeper answer or a quick health tip.
- Discover Health Experts and the content they’ve contributed.
- Search in any of our 16 languages, their Romanised forms, or English.
Our approach
We do not produce original medical advice. We organise existing, credible content — MedlinePlus descriptions from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (public domain), and videos from verified creator channels — into a form that makes it easier to find what you need. Coverage depth varies by language. Hindi and Odia are the deepest today; every language continues to grow as more expert interviews land.
